The mystery begins with a situation that sparks curiosity.
Each experience explains what you can know, decide or prove.
The solution must rest on clues the reader can find.
The piece that does not fit
The piece represents the detail that breaks a mystery's logic. Its colour can change with each collection, but its purpose stays the same: to signal that something deserves a second look.
FALSUM is currently developing titles for adults and young readers. The official book pages clearly state what is published, in preparation or in development.
What FALSUM publishes
FALSUM is a Spanish publisher of mystery and deduction books. It publishes in Spanish for three audiences: adults, readers aged 8 to 12, and children aged 4 to 6 who still read with company. What they share is neither tone nor age, but structure: closed cases with one answer the reader can prove from what is on the page.
That rule excludes much of what is sold as a puzzle. There are no riddles whose answer can only be recognised, and no endings that rely on a fact the reader could not have known. If the solution needs information missing from the page, the case is badly built and does not get published.
Each collection invents its own rules. RASTROS asks you to reconstruct the only possible route; The Impossible Version asks you to find which account of an event does not hold; Faces explores identity and visual observation. What stays constant is the contract with the reader, not the mechanic.
Who it is for
The adult titles —RASTROS, The Impossible Version and Faces— assume a reader who wants to think seriously and does not need the path smoothed. The cases are independent: open at any page and solve one in a short sitting.
For readers aged 8 to 12, The Impossible Version Kids keeps the same logical demands with difficulty graded across four levels, because at that age the discouraging part is a sudden jump, not difficulty itself.
For children aged 4 to 6, My First Book of Mysteries moves deduction to what they can do before reading fluently: look at a scene and notice what does not fit what someone has just said. The book is an object for two, and the conversation is the game.
Anyone looking for guidance before choosing can start with the guides, which explain how to choose by age and how the formats differ.
Editorial status
FALSUM is a young publishing project. In a catalogue still being built, it is easy to confuse what has been announced with what is available. The books are published in Spanish, and English editions are in preparation. RASTROS is now available on Amazon in Spanish as a paperback. The remaining titles are in preparation or in development, and each book page states this on its first line.
You can check the price and buy the Spanish edition of RASTROS on Amazon. You can also try it free with cases playable in the browser, with graded hints and solutions, and two downloadable booklets with ten cases each.
