How to choose between these titles

The six books in the catalogue share a structure — closed cases with a provable solution — but ask different things of the reader. The useful difference when choosing is the kind of thinking each one calls for.

Reconstruct a route. RASTROS gives you a grid and a set of rules, and asks you to find the only path that satisfies all of them. Solve it with a pencil, marking and crossing out. It is closest to a formal logic puzzle: one hundred cases across five levels.

Find the contradiction. The Impossible Version and its Kids edition present several accounts of the same event and ask which one does not hold. They are solved by reading, not annotating, and work especially well aloud because they invite discussion.

Observe. Faces and My First Book of Mysteries base their deduction on visual clues: identities to compare in one, illustrated scenes that contradict what someone says in the other. They depend least on reading fluency.

Decide under pressure. The Eight Minutes is an interactive thriller: information is deliberately incomplete and decisions change the outcome. It is closer to a branching narrative than a book of cases.

The guides develop this comparison in more detail, including one on the difference between riddles, deduction puzzles and logic cases and another on choosing by age.
